Just days after the trials, Charlie was scouted by Ipswich Town and invited to play. “I attended UK Football Trials on the Tuesday, and by Friday night, I was up at Ipswich to play,” he explained. His talent shone brightly, earning him a second opportunity to represent Ipswich just three weeks later. 

Charlie’s time at Ipswich was remarkable. Reflecting on his experience, he shared, “Playing two games for Ipswich has been brilliant.” The exposure didn’t stop there—Charlie was also scouted by Colchester United. While he awaits confirmation of his trial dates with them, his regular contact with Ipswich keeps him motivated and focused. 

Through these experiences, Charlie has gained invaluable lessons that have shaped his approach to the game. “I learned to be confident without the players I’m used to around,” he noted, highlighting his ability to adapt and excel in unfamiliar environments. 

When asked about the calibre of players at the trial, Charlie confidently stated, “Yes, definitely. I went in with my trial at Chelsea, so I knew what to expect.” His previous high-level experience helped him navigate the competitive environment with poise and determination. 

Charlie’s decision to attend UK Football Trials was rooted in his unwavering passion for the game. “All I want to do is play football and make it my future,” he said. “I had nothing to lose, so I gave it my all.” This mindset epitomises his dedication to pursuing a professional football career. 

He wholeheartedly recommends UK Football Trials to others aspiring to play at the highest level. “Yes, definitely,” he said. “Performing in front of different scouts is amazing. It’s also good to see what level of football you’re at.”
