Daniel Jebbison – From UK Football Trials to the Premier League – Now on loan at Preston North End 

Daniel Jebbison’s story is one that continues to inspire young players attending our trials. At just 15 years old, Daniel arrived at a UK Football Trials event with his sights set on taking the next step in his football journey. Born in Canada, Daniel had recently moved to the UK and was relatively unknown in the English football system. However, it didn’t take long for him to make an impression. 

Tall, athletic, and with a striker’s instinct, Daniel stood out immediately. His ability to read the game, hold up the ball, and create space for himself in attacking areas caught the attention of scouts in attendance. It was clear even then that he had the potential to play at a high level. After impressing at our event, Daniel was offered the opportunity to join Sheffield United’s academy, marking the start of an incredible journey. 

Daniel worked his way quickly through the youth ranks at the club, impressing coaches with his attitude, professionalism, and commitment to improving every aspect of his game. Within a couple of years, he had forced his way into first-team contention — and it wasn’t long before he made history. 

In May 2021, at the age of just 17, Daniel was handed his first Premier League start against Everton at Goodison Park. He took his chance in spectacular fashion, scoring the only goal of the game and becoming the youngest player in Premier League history to score on their first start. It was a proud moment for everyone who had supported Daniel along the way — and for us at UK Football Trials, it was another reminder of what’s possible when talent and opportunity come together. 

Since then, Daniel’s development has continued through valuable loan spells. He spent time with Burton Albion, gaining regular first-team minutes and learning the demands of senior football. Most recently, in the 2024/25 season, Daniel joined Preston North End on loan from AFC Bournemouth. The move is seen as another crucial step in his journey, offering him the chance to play Championship football and continue building on the experience he’s already gained. 

Throughout his career, Daniel has remained grounded and determined. He’s a fantastic example of a player who didn’t get picked up at a young age but worked hard, stayed focused, and took his chance when it came. During a recent conversation, Daniel shared the powerful words: “UK Football Trials changed my life.” For us, there is no better feedback — and no better motivation to keep providing players with the platform they need to be seen. 

We’re incredibly proud of Daniel and everything he’s achieved so far. His story shows that with the right attitude and the right opportunities, young players can break through — even from a standing start. We’re excited to see what the future holds for him.
