Leo’s performances at his UK Football Trials event made an immediate impression. His speed, creativity, and bravery on the ball stood out across the sessions, earning him the attention of two clubs — Chelsea and Tonbridge Angels. For any young player, being recognised by a Premier League academy is a huge achievement, and Leo felt the significance of the moment straight away. 

“When I was scouted by two clubs, it was a huge opportunity,” he said. It was clear that his commitment to training and his passion for the game were beginning to pay off. 

Shortly after the trial, Leo was contacted for further assessment. Both clubs reached out for additional information, and Chelsea extended a formal trial invitation. He is now undergoing a multi-week trial period, where he is training, playing, and being carefully assessed by academy staff to determine whether he is the right fit for their programme. 

He described the ongoing experience as an important chance to grow: 

“It’s an opportunity to demonstrate my skills and also to be seen and assessed by coaches.” 

Leo’s best moment at the UK Football Trials event was unsurprising — the exact point when the scouts approached. Being recognised by two clubs boosted his confidence and highlighted that he is developing in the right direction. 

When asked why he came to UK Football Trials, Leo’s answer reflected the mindset of a young player who understands the importance of visibility: 

“For the opportunity to be seen by scouts and coaches.” 

And he would not hesitate to recommend the event to other players: 

“Yes, for the opportunity.” 

Leo has already received some early feedback from the clubs involved, and with the trial process underway, he remains focused on his development and determined to make the most of the chance he has earned. 

At only 11 years old, Uwadiale has already taken his first steps into academy football. With talent on the pitch and dedication off it, he is laying strong foundations for an exciting future — and the coming weeks of his trial will be an important stage in his journey.
