Dion, a defensive-midfielder, has been training with Championship side Blackburn Rovers following a successful UK Football Trial last year. He initially received interest from Huddersfield after catching the eye in October, but opted for Blackburn when our head coach Kevin Kent presented the opportunity.

Dion's Dad, John, said: "UKFT coach Kevin told us there was an opportunity with Blackburn so we jumped at it. The session was good - he slotted in at left-back but did well. I'm sure Dion will come out of his shell when he gets to know everyone more. He's going back 3 times a week for 6 weeks, so he's got a good chance."

"I think there's a real lack of scouts in this area to be honest. I don't think I can remember one ever watching a game of his and he's just slipped through the net. He has got something about him and UK Football Trials found that, but I think he's had a lack of opportunity to get scouted before. UK Football Trials have been great. We came once before and nothing happened, but we came back again and Dion was much more comfortable. He knew the process and the friendly faces and was able to express himself a bit more. I'd definitely recommend it for players who haven't had that chance."
