Michael attended our football trials in February when he was becoming frustrated, playing well every week and training hard for his local side. Although nervous, the 10-year-old came to our trial in Birmingham where a scout from Port Vale noticed the youngster playing in the 10-14 age category.

Since the trial, Michael has been training with Port Vale and is hoping to sign for the club soon.

Club scout Lee Foyle said; "Michael's been in with us for a week, a few sessions got cancelled because of the snow! He's a confident character, good physical corner in the four corner approach and has shown good technical ability so far."

His Mum, Natalie, told UK Football Trials, "Michael is loving it at Port Vale and he's said training with them is helping him get better and he is really loving the experience. 

"He also really enjoyed the UK Football Trial, as he has never done one before. He also feels his fitness has got better training with Port Vale twice a week."

In Birmingham, Michael showed an outstanding attitude and willing to learn and take on board what the coaches were telling him. 

Natalie later messaged the UKFT team and said, "Thank you for giving him the opportunity to be able to experience training with an academy team and also would definitely consider bringing him to another trial in the future as it was run and put together reall well."​
