Brian Galach - Aged 17 - Signed Pro-Contract for Crawley Town after Impressing for Aldershot
Polish winger Brian Galach has signed a pro-contract with Crawley Town in League Two, after scoring an incredible 48 goals last season.
Brian, who has just turned 17, attended our trials two years ago and after being scouted by several clubs, eventually signed a scholarship with Aldershot.
Last season he notched a remarkable 48 goals while playing for the u18’s and u23’s, leading to interest from Crawley Town.
Bob, Brian’s dad, explained how the move materialised: “Crawley watched him a few times and the Director made quick contact to us and offered a 3-year-pro contract with the option of a further year.
“It’s a big change and it’s all come about really quickly but he’s very happy to get his first pro-contract. Crawley are a big club and we’re very happy that they have given this chance to a young boy.”
Brian will be plying his trade under the guise of former Leeds and Liverpool winger Harry Kewell, who is now the First Team Manager at the Checkatrade Stadium, and there have already been pre-season outings against Fulham, Norwich and Brighton.
“There have been a few games so far and Brian has done well,” said Bob.
“It’s crazy – two years ago we came to England looking for a club and now he is playing against Premier League clubs and has a big contract in League Two.”
Bob added: “Harry Kewell is a brilliant coach, it’s like he’s not a manager he is always in there training with the players and showing the players what they should be doing.”
It seems Brian, who was at Chelsea’s academy as a youngster, has finally settled in England after trials with Stoke City and Reading.
He could yet force his way into the squad for Crawley’s opening league game against Cheltenham Town, where he may face another UK Football Trials player.
