Hugo Pereira - Aged 17 - Training with Aldershot u18's
National League outfit Aldershot Town have taken 18-year-old winger Hugo Pereira on trial after scouting him from our event in December.
A scout was present at the trial at QPR’s Training Ground and was so impressed with Hugo’s performance that he proceeded to invite him to the club’s training ground for a second look.
Hugo, who holds a dual British and Portuguese passport, explained: “It took a few weeks but Aldershot got in touch and invited me down a for a trial and I went down on Monday and Tuesday this week.
“We did a few drills and worked on things like passing, dribbling, shooting and then went into a game. We trained on the 4G pitch there – the facilities were amazing.”
He added: “I was quite nervous to start with but all the other players helped me settle in and I think it went well.
“The coaches said they were impressed with what they’ve seen and they want me to stay on.”
Hugo has never had a pro club trial before and up until now has only played for local clubs and his county, Jersey.
“I heard about UK Football Trials through my best mate who had been last year and it turned out a great decision.”
