Whilst at our West London event back in April, 13-year-old goalkeeper Michael Maciejewski attracted from three clubs QPR, Bournemouth and Charlton Athletic and has been invited to trial for QPR.

We asked Michaels dad Marcin for a bit of background on Michael’s footballing history. Here’s what he had to say: “This season has gone very well for his grassroots club, they have just won their league and are playing at a higher level now. Michael is actually younger than the other players, he plays for the under 15’s but is only 13-years-old.”

Michael impressed at our event, his father told us: ““This was Michaels second time attending UK Football Trials. He was very lucky this time as the goalkeeping coach awarded him. As well as QPR, Michael was also scouted by Bournemouth but unfortunately could not take that opportunity due to the time limit from clubs for youth players. He also had interest from Charlton Athletic too.”

Talking about Michael’s opportunity with QPR, Marcin explained: “Michael is on an eight week trial, he attends every Friday and it is going very well. After four weeks they will give us feedback and if they are happy he will stay for the full eight weeks, and if they are still happy then he could potentially sign a contract.”

“He’s at an advantage to sign as well as there is a shortage of goalkeepers for his age and he is very tall, about 1.8 metres.” He added.

Michael is currently training three times a week as well as some additional one to one training. His father Marcin explained what happens week to week whilst on trial with the Championship side, explaining: “At QPR, he starts the session with a warm up with the goalkeepers and then they play matches. These sessions are with other players on trial to see if they are good enough to join the academy.”

Both Michael and his father have been very impressed with the standard at QPR telling us: “The standard of the coaching is brilliant, it is organised very well and just overall very good.”

They were also very complimentary of our company too; Marcin expressed his thoughts saying: “UK Football Trials gives a lot of opportunities to young players, not only to compare to themselves to other players, but to also show their talent to a number of scouts attending trials. We are very happy and will definitely use UKFT again, as it's a brilliant idea and fantastic atmosphere. We are recommending your event to all players, as it's great experience, regardless of your age and where you play. Thank you very much.”
