Jaden Mansour impressed scouts at our West London event held at Queens Park Rangers training ground back in October and was scouted by a record NINE clubs!

Talking to Jaden’s father Gavin, we asked for more details on his football history. He told us: “Jaden moved over to the UK this year from South Africa.”

“Back in South Africa he played for Super Sport United Academy and Sporting Portugal Academy.”

“He currently plays for grassroots club Camberley Town Rebels at under 12’s level in the Surrey Youth League.”

Whilst at our event, Jaden caught the eye of scouts from Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Watford, QPR, Fulham, Luton, Portsmouth, Birmingham and AFC Wimbledon!

Since being scouted, we asked Gavin to talk us through what has happened. He explained: “Jaden started an eight-week trial with QPR’s development centre, not the actual academy.”

“He also featured in two talent ID games for Crystal Palace and was offered him an eight-week trial off the back of it.”

“However, Fulham also offered him an eight-week trial and due to distances we decided to pull him out of QPR and instead pursue Fulham as it is much closer to where we live.”

When asked why he chose to bring Jaden to our event, Gavin explained: “I read about UK Football Trials online and thought it would be a great option to get Jaden more exposure.”

He continued: “Jaden is smaller than the other boys so I decided to send him to your event in order for scouts to see his technical ability when he is in his element.”

Curious as to what the standard is like at these clubs, we asked Gavin who told us: “The standard at QPR was a very high level, the same as with Fulham.”

“With Crystal Palace Jaden featured in two talent ID games, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The first game wasn’t to as high of a standard as there were a lot of new players on trial. However, the second was with current players so the quality was much better.”

With Jaden having such a fantastic trial with us, we asked Gavin if they had any advice for other players in a similar position. He said: “My advice to players in a similar position as Jaden would be to play your natural game. Don’t think about trying to impress, just do what comes naturally to you and if you are really good enough you will be noticed.”
