Zhaine Miller - Aged 11 - SIGNED for Luton Town

Zhaine Miller - Aged 11 - SIGNED for Luton Town

Zhaine Miller, 11, has attended four of our trials in the past and has been scouted by Birmingham, Crystal Palace and Luton Town in his latest effort.

Speaking with Zhaine’s father, we asked for an insight into his son’s football history. He explained: “Zhaine started off just playing grassroots football where he would train once in the week and play on a Sunday. He was doing that for around a year.”

“Whilst at school he played in a tournament that was played at Barnet F.C’s stadium and was actually scouted by the club.”

“He then went to play with Barnet for a full season but unfortunately the club told us that they had signed their full quota of players for the year so were unable to officially sign him.”

After experiencing football at an academy level, Zhaine opted to attend our events. His father told us: “Since Zhaine had that taste of academy life, he really got into it and that’s what made me find you guys and bring him along to your trials.”

“The first time I took Zhaine to your trial I had to hold his hand and walk him to the pitch. Then after a few, his confidence just grew, he was playing with lads he didn’t know, and he was a different boy.”

“Having those trials even though he wasn’t successful the first two or three times, it still developed him as a player I noticed a difference.”

Zhaine’s first trial came with Crystal Palace where he attended training sessions and featured for the club’s development centre. His father explained: “Zhaine got an invite to play a game every Saturday. Over the course they watch him and decide if he is good enough to get a trial for their academy.”

However, Zhaine had to put his trial with Crystal Palace on hold after signing forms to officially trial with Luton Town.

Over the course of 3 months Zhaine featured in both matches and attended training sessions with Luton’s academy and continued to impress.

UK Football Trials can now officially announce that Zhaine has now officially signed for the club!

We asked what advice Zhaine would give to players who were in a similar position to him. His father told us: “The advice Zhaine would give to players like him would be if you believe in your ability and just keep going.”

Everyone here at UK Football Trials would like to congratulate Zhaine on his brilliant work ethic and not giving up when most would. We wish him the best of luck with Luton and we will continue to update his situation in the club as it comes in.
