19-year-old centre forward Shane Brazil impressed at our West London event after scoring five goals! From this he was scouted by National League side Woking and has now gone on to sign for them!

We caught up with Shane to get a better understanding of his footballing background, why he chose to attend our event and how his trial with Woking went.

First of all Shane, congratulations on your brilliant trial with UK Football Trials and being scouted by Woking! You are obviously a talented player, could you please tell us a little bit about your football history?

“I begun my football career at the age of 16 when I started playing for Wick under 18’s/men’s team. From there I moved to Sutton United under 18’s and also co signed for Arundel men’s.”

“I stayed with Sutton until the age of 17 and during my time there I achieved players player of the year, and top goal scorer. Since leaving Sutton I’ve played for local teams like Arundel, Pagham, Wick and Littlehampton.” 

Wow that’s brilliant, you have clearly been performing very well for your local team. So what was the reason you decided to come along to one of our trials? 

“I had opportunities but I wanted to broaden my horizons away from my local area.”

Brilliant, since being scouted, could you please talk us through the training with Woking?

“During training we performed numerous intense drills, for example different types of circuit training. I found the training a lot different to what I’m used too because they are a lot more thorough during the sessions. I’ve found the whole experience extremely beneficial as I’ve now found a club where I’m happy and suits me and my level.”

That is absolutely brilliant! As someone who attended our event and have now gone on to sign for a club, do you have advice for others who are in a similar position?

“I would 100% recommend UK football trials as a way to get seen, it’s an extremely well organised event which I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in. They also had a good follow up and made sure I had a good experience.”
