13-year-old striker Aliou Cisse was scouted from our Birmingham event back in December four clubs Leicester City, West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City and Forest Green.

We caught up with Aliou back in March to discuss his football history and the outcome of his trials. He told us: “The trial I was scouted at was my third with UK Football Trials. I first attended in 2018 where I wasn’t successful but I took what I learned and applied it to my game when playing for my grassroots club.”

Aliou has been performing very well consistently for his grassroots club which lead him to attend our event. He explained: “The reason I chose to attend your event was because I felt I was good enough to play at a higher level and needed to find a club. UK Football Trials was highly recommended to me and it lived up to this.”

He continued: “I was impressed by the amount of scouts in attendance at all of your events and the UKFT staff were very nice and helpful too.”

Following being scouted, Aliou explained what has happened with Leicester City: “I have attended two training sessions with Leicester City where I feel I performed well. They are going to continue to monitor me with hopes of bringing me back in next season.”

“As well as this, I’ve also featured in a talent ID game for West Brom who have asked me to attend two training sessions a week for the next six to eight weeks.”

“From here there are hopes I will move on to a trial with their actual academy.”

“My sister is still in contact with the Stoke City scout, he is currently organising a date for me to go on trial.”

Unfortunately due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Aliou has not been able to continue his sessions with any of the clubs but he is hopeful once academies re-open he will be able to pick up where he left off. UK Football Trials will continue to update as information comes in.
