Reece White - Aged 22 - Training With Hitchin Town
22-year-old centre-back Reece White has attended five of our events in the past year looking to be scouted after an impressive background in the game.
On his last trial with us, Reece caught the eye of Luton Town’s Head of Recruitment who then placed him into Hitchin Town for training sessions and friendly matches to keep an eye on the promising defender.
We spoke with Reece to learn more about his football history, why he attended our events and how it is going with Hitchin Town.
Reece first told us: “My football history started when I signed for Wingate and Finchley. From there I played for Potters Bar Town, Greenwich Borough, Sevenoaks and had a three year scholarship with Ebbsfleet United.”
He continued: “I also represented London and was captain for my borough Camden.”
As well as this, Reece had also been scouted for professional clubs Barnet and Luton. Because of this impressive background in football, we asked him why he chose to attend our events. He explained: “I felt that my time was running out and I saw a success story from a UK football trial which caught my eye. I thought I'd give that a go and thankfully was scouted by Luton Town and placed into Hitchin.”
Since being scouted Reece explained what has happened: “I have been training with Hitchin Town and played in a friendly behind closed doors which I did very well in. Training has been quality and the standard is very good.”
“I’m currently still training with Hitchin Town with Luton watching my progress.” He added.
As a player who has had set backs in the game but has never lost the determination to make it, we asked Reece what advice he had for others like him. He said: “I’d like to tell other players that are in my situation that there is always a chance and never give up. UK football trials offer a great platform for players to be seen by scouts.”
