11-year-old Harley Hunt, who plays as a right midfielder was scouted by Woking F.C from our West London event. After trialling with the club, he impressed so much he was offered to sign with the National League side. 

We caught up with Harley to discuss his football history, why he chose to attend our event and how he is finding life with Woking.

So Harley, could you please talk us through your football history? 

"I’ve played for only one club which is Whitegrove FC and some of my proudest achievements are getting to the cup final. Unfortunately we lost 2-1 butI scored our goal. Secondly, I received a trophy for players player which is a trophy where all the players in the team vote who was the best player that season and also I received the golden boot."

That's fantastic Harley! What was the reason why you think you weren’t getting an opportunity and decided to come to a trial? 

"The reason I thought that I was not getting a good enough opportunity and came to the trial was because I didn’t think that I was playing at a high enough standard/level to actually get scouted because my matches were never watched by scouts."

Perfect, since being scouted, what has life been like with Woking?

"It has been a good experience for me and I really enjoyed it. It was fun to get to know the players on and off the pitch. I have trained with them, played a matches and a tournament with them.

"So far Woking are happy with how I play ( my playing style ) and they have said that I fit in the team quite well as well!"

That is absolutely fantastic Harley! As someone who has gone from playing grassroots to signing for Woking, do you have any advice for players like yourself?

"For the other players out there who think they have the talent but need an opportunity to get scouted I would say you still need to practice and work hard every day because the better you are the better team you will play for and the better team you play for the more chance of you getting scouted."
