16-year-old striker Olly Woolgar was scouted by Dorking and Sutton from our West London trial back in April and has now signed for Dorking.

Speaking with Olly, he explained his football history and how he's played at a high standard from a young age. He told us: "My history with football clubs is I was at Fulham as child for a year when i was 10 and after leaving I joined aldershot at the age of 12 for 2 years until I was 14."

He added: "I’ve played for grassroots side Guildford City who I joined when I was four and now i play for Abbey Rangers U18s."

It's not been an easy journey for Olly, he explained: "After i got dropped from aldershot i fell out of love with football and found it difficult to carry on playing."

However, during the Covid-19 pandemic Olly decided to apply himself and try to rekindle his love for the game. He told us: "During the first lockdown I thought I would try and achieve something with football, so I trained and worked hard, putting in the hours that were needed for about 5 months."

He continued: "I found myself improving so then I thought I’d give your trials a go to see how I’d do and see what kind of feedback and results I would get."

This clearly paid off for the youngster who has now secured his place with Dorking for the upcoming season.
