18-year-old striker Louis Fountain was scouted from our June 2021 trial in West London by National League side Woking.
Speaking with Louis, we asked him about his football history. He explained to us that he has previously played for Wycombe Wanderers at U18 level as well as stints at both Burnham F.C and Risborough Rangers F.C.
With his previous experience playing at a high level, we wanted to know his reasons for attending one of our trials and why he felt he wasn't getting the exposure he needed. He explained: "I wasn't getting any opportunities at a younger age as I wasn't skilful enough."
"However, as I got older I played in games against professional clubs but I nothing ever came from it."
"I chose to attend your trial to have more than just one club watch me not only in match situations but playing in drills too."
When pushed to tell us more about his experience with Woking, Louis told us: "The training sessions are very professional and I felt very welcomed by the staff and players."
"The club have signed me on to their U19's and U23's team." He added.
Due to his success at our trial and his trial with Woking, we asked Louis if he had any advice for players in a similar position to himself, he told us: "My advice is to keep working hard and your opportunity will come. You just have to give it your all to get the most out of it. Show your ability and show the scouts what you are all about."
UK Football Trials would like to congratulate Louis on his signing with Woking.
Operations Director Tom Rudd said: "Just watching him in both the drills and matches on the trial day I knew that there was something there and that he would catch the eye of one or two scouts. I am delighted that he has gone on to sign for Woking and I wish him the best of luck for the future."
We will continue to bring updates on Louis as they come in.
