14-year-old Ronnie Timms was scouted by Luton Town and offered a six to eight week trial with the Championship club after attending our Essex event.

Talking with Emma, Ronnie’s mother, she explained a little more about Ronnie’s football history and what has happened since our event.

She firstly explained: “Ronnie started playing football when he was five or six just for a local club. He stayed with them for a few years and before he moved to another local club. He also played for Stevenage’s shadow squad for a few years and also trained with their academy.”

After a strong background in the game, we asked Emma what it was that made her bring her son to our event, she told us: “We chose to bring Ronnie along to your event as his confidence was knocked due to not getting a trial with Stevenage, although he felt he performed really well for them.”

She continued: “When I saw you online it looked like a really good, professional set up and after looking into your social media I seen your videos and realised that good stories and opportunities do come from your trials.”

“Ronnie had a brilliant time, it was not just about getting scouted, the coaches were brilliant and he really learned a lot from the day.”

After the trial, Emma expanded on what happened after: “From your trial we received an email from Lee who requested more details which were then passed on to the coach for Ronnie’s age.” 

“The coach then contacted us and invited Ronnie to attend sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for the next six to eight weeks. He is also going to play in a match with them against Portsmouth!”

“This is all new to Ronnie and he’s very excited, over the moon in fact! He is eating healthy, training hard and is really committed to his football.”
