13-year-old Robert Bunn was scouted from our West London trial back in October 2021 by Watford and since being scouted, Robert has trialled with the Premier League club!
We caught up with Robert to gain an insight into his football history and how thing have progressed since he attended our trial.
Firstly, we asked Robert about his football history, he explained: "I played for St Josephs in the Harrow Premier Division last season where we won the league by one point after a three horse race. This was a very proud moment for me and the team."
He continued: "I also play for CPD Barnet. My manager Ali has believed in me and gave me the opportunity to step up and become a better player."
"After a good spell playing with my own age group he invited me to train and play games with the under 16's which has definitely improved me massively not only physically but mentally."
"I also do 1-2-1s with Gemma Davison , David Pitt and Saun Ryan every 1-2-1 coach has brought something new to my game.
We were curious why Robert chose to attend our trial, he told us: "I decided to try uk football trials as it’s a great opportunity to get scouted even if you don’t get invited to a club trail it’s a great experience and you will learn a lot from it."
After learning he had been scouted, we asked Robert how he found it training with Watford, he responded: "Training with Watford has been a great experience so far and I’m enjoying learning and working with the team."
"There hasn't been any feedback just yet as I am still on trial." He added.
Robert also provided some advice for players in a similar position to himself: "Believe in yourself and work your hardest in training and game days. Stay off technology, try to eat healthy and listen and learn from experienced people. You should always turn up with a good attitude as consistency and dedication is key."
UK Football Trials would like to congratulate Robert on an impressive trial with ourselves and Watford. We wish him the best of luck in the future and hope he can continue to impress.
