11-year-old Harry Heathcote was scouted from our Birmingham trial back in February by Derby County.
We spoke with Harry's mother Sarah to discuss her son's football history, why he chose to attend our events and what has happened since.
Firstly, we asked Sarah to talk us through Harry's football background, she told us: "He started playing football at 18-months-old at Soccatots. He has played football ever since, he started at Stafford Rangers football club, he has played for Stoke RTC for a few years now in the JPL league. He also plays Mid staffs league with Penkridge Colts."
We next asked Sarah why she chose to bring Harry to one of our events, she explained: "Harry is a very talented player and we just wanted to make sure we were right and have the professionals take a look at him to see if he has what it takes. Harry is always looking to better himself, a professional trial day seemed a good plan, and it was."
Moving onto the trial with Derby, Sarah told us: "The training at The Derby County shadow team is amazing! The best he has ever had, long may it continue, the professionalism is outstanding."
She added: "We are awaiting a decision in another two weeks when the training ends for the season. Hopefully they will ask him to come back."
We asked Sarah for advice for others looking to get scouted, she said: "You definitely need to try UK Football Trials, if not for the experience, it's a great day, lovely professional coaches everywhere, Harry really enjoyed the day."
UK Football Trials would like to congratulate Harry and wish him the best of luck with the future. We will post updates as they come in.
