19-year-old Ben Glendon, who plays as a winger, was recently scouted from our Cheshire trial by Alsager Town - who he has signed for, Rotherham United and Daisy Hill.

Speaking with Ben, who has attended a number of our events, we asked him to talk us through his football journey. He told us: "I have played at Lancaster City, Newcastle Town, Macclesfield Town, Altrincham and also out in The United States for Coastal Bend College."

Commenting on why he chose to attend our event, Ben explained: "I have had opportunities both through your company but I unfortunately didn't make it for other reasons. Because of this I decided to give it another go to find a team at semi-pro level."

This paid off Ben who was scouted by three clubs, signing for one. When asked what life is like with Alsager Town - who play in the North West County League. He said: "The training is a lot of hard work because Alsager are trying to get back up there where they belong. Because of this it is hard but really fun." 

He added: "I have played one game for Alsager so far against Macclesfield in which I scored two goals."

We asked Ben if he had any advice for players looking to make that step from grassroots to semi-pro, he commented: "Give UK Football Trials a go because I've been a few times and each time I have been picked up."
