Amazing news Tyrone Bushawu!

Tyrone, aged 13, attended 2 of our trial events in April 2023.

Tyrone’s playing background has been varied, he started off at Young Elites as a right winger before moving on to another team that played on Saturdays called Elite Juniors.

He was scouted by Chesterfield and was offered a contract, unfortunately his time at Chesterfield was short lived, and he chose to leave.  He was given advice that he should not stop playing and his friends recommended that he joined another team in the Sunday League District A Division, going on to also join South Yorkshire County Boys and Sheffield Boys. 

We were intrigued to know why Tyrone thought he wasn’t getting any opportunities and what made him come to UK Football Trials. Tyrone told us that he felt he wasn’t getting much recognition in the A division by many top academies and probably nobody saw him playing at my very best.  He joined two of our events so that he could show his talent in front of many top academy scouts.

We wanted to know more about Tyrone’s experience whilst on his club trial, Tyrone said “There is a lot of differences like the intensity of drills goes higher and it’s more beneficial because it teaches you how to play under pressure and be calm on the ball. Another good thing is that they pick up on stuff that has happened in previous matches so that the errors get solved and perfected”

His experience from the club trial seen Tyrone change how he looks at training whilst away from the club, he now includes strength and conditioning and some exercises that allow him to work on his upper body strength.

We always want to know what advice our trialists would give to others and Tyrone was  told us that he would advise any player to attend UK Football Trials because of the opportunities you have to play in front of top teams, He said “All you need to do is perform to the best standard you can”

Tyrone who was scouted by 4 clubs at our events has now been signed by Sheffield United.
