Well done to Luis Ribeiro Nso who came to our West London trial event and has been plating at the Chelsea IRP!

Luis' first team was Aspley Guise under 8s, before this he practiced by playing endless hours on the streets with his 2 older brothers.

His second team was Leighton United U13's and is currently playing on Saturdays for MK Galacticos as well as playing for Dunstable U14s UJA on Sundays

We asked Luis why he attended UK Football Trials and his reply was "Players should not just sit around idly thinking they are the best ever and wait for the opportunity to find them. Even the best players need to put in the effort to be seen, to create the chances and opportunities. Thats what it was for me. I wanted a challenge, I wanted to see what the next level would look like. 

I also wanted to spend another day full of football as that's the best way to spend any day for me, and being scouted would be a nice bonus. It just so happened I was noticed at the event"

Speaking on his experience so far at Chelsea Luis said "They have 2 IRP centres, Barking and Cobham. Barking is intense, high level and pace. However Cobham is yet another level challenging your pace and work rate, absolutely pushing the player to a higher level. The environment too is inspirational to any aspiring young player."

When asked if his training is any different since the event Luis said "For the past 3 years I have been training additionally outside of my usual weekend clubs. I was doing various things such as futsal, technical and physical trainings. One person told me that hard work beats talent when talent does not work hard. This experience showed me how important it is to see as many different training programmes as possible, that shape and improve players from so many different perspectives."

Luis' speaking on UK Football Teams added "Absolutely amazing day out, great team and superb facilities. Loads of great advice and opportunities to learn how to attend trials. Not a single reason not to try them!"

And finally Luis' advice to other players would be "There is a saying 'You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.' My advice for young athletes would be to take all the chances that are coming to them and to create chances by themselves"
