Well done to 15 year old Archie Drummond who was scouted at one of our West London events.  After a year in their showcase team, earned himself a trial with Crystal Palace!

Archie is a centre back and has played grass roots football in Jersey for Grouville FC since the age of 4. He has also represented Jersey in each age group from U11 to U15

When asked why he attended UK Football Trials Archie said " I attended  a UK Football Trials event to try and get noticed by a scout from a professional club because it is a lot harder to get spotted living on a small Island like Jersey.

I was delighted to be offered the opportunity to play matches for the Crystal Palace Showcase team at their academy training ground.
Due to my performances for the Showcase team I was offered a trial with the Crystal Palace U15 academy.

Unfortunately, I was not offered a contract but it was an amazing experience to test myself against some top quality players. 

I felt that I was at that level so it has made me more determined to get another opportunity elsewhere."

Archie also added "I really enjoyed the UK Football Trials event. The training sessions were interesting and fun, and the standard of competition was good.

I would definitely recommend UK Football Trials to other footballers. It is an opportunity to showcase your talents and potentially get some interest from a professional football club.

We asked Archie what advice he would give to other players and his reply was "My advice to other players is to work hard and believe in yourself and you never know what might happen."
