Razvan started his football journey at the age of 10 in grassroots football the same as thousands of other players. Here Razvan played grassroots football until the age of 16 before he attended a UK Football Trials event and was identified by the International Football Development Academy (IDFA) programme at Hartley & Wintney F.C.

It was here that for the next 3 years Razvan continued to work hard and improve his game in and around other very good players at the programme.

Now at the age of 19 years old Razvan decided it was time to attend another UK Football Trials 1-day event in Essex in February 2024 where he was scouted by Boreham Wood F.C. Razvan was invited into a trial for a week with Boreham Wood F.C to see how he got on with the potential of signing for the new season 24/25. During his trial with Boreham Wood, Razvan continued to do well and work as hard as he ever could amongst other trialists. He commented that “The intensity of the trial was high training and playing at a higher level than what I was used to.”

After a successful trial Razvan received the excellent news, he was waiting for that he had been offered a place in the Boreham Wood u21 squad which also includes training with the first team and potentially and hopefully a pathway to one day getting into the first team. Razvan is really happy that all his hard work over the years to learn and improve his game had finally come to fruition and he is now excited and looking forward to the new season 24/25 and working even harder to one day gain a place in the first team which would be a great achievement.

We asked Razvan what he thought of UK Football Trials events and whether he would recommend them to others and he had this to say…”The 1-day trial was ran professionally and the level of ability of other players at the trial was very good. I attended with the hope of getting opportunities with professional clubs and this worked out really well for me on both occasions. I have already recommended UK Football Trials events to friends back home in Romania as it is a great way of moving forward in football.”
