13-year-old youngster Maximilian is no stranger when it comes to playing football in an elite environment. During his football journey so far, he has enjoyed attending football summer camps in the UK such as the Chelsea F.C and Fulham F.C learning various new attributes to implement into his game. Back home in Nigeria Maximilian has been fortunate enough to play in football academies such as Juventus and Barcelona. It is from his experience within these football environments that has helped him improve his game and helped him to decide to attend a UK Football Trials 1-day trial to put his skills to the test.

After attending a 1-day trial at our Middlesex event in October 2023 Maximilian stood out and caught the eye of the Chelsea F.C scout. After being introduced to the scout Maximilian was invited into the club for an opportunity within their IRP Development Centre. We asked Maximilian how his experience went, and he mentioned that it was “very intense and a lot of high pressure playing amongst other very good players already in the academy set up at the club.”

Maximilian thoroughly enjoyed his experience and we went on to ask him if he learnt anything from this and he replied with…”I have learnt that I have to be more sharp when playing in and around better players as these types of players are more alert and quick to close you down. I also learnt that no one person is better than everyone.”

Finally, as always, we asked Maximilian if he would recommend a UK Football Trials event to others and if so, why. His response was…”Yes I would as it is a very good place to get your football career going and show what your good at and not good at.”

Like many other young players Maximilian has a dream to one day become a professional footballer and he has already started his football journey down the right path and with some hard work and dedication he can strive to make his dream come true.
