Daniel Jebbison - Update
Re-cap
on Daniel’s History with UK Football Trials and how it all started.
Daniel
was born and raised in Canada and started his football journey there. After
moving with his parents to England Daniel attended our Birmingham football
trial event back in April 2018, playing as a full back in the trial games. From
our one-day event, Daniel was invited to trial for Sheffield United’s academy,
where he continued to perform and impress. The club coaches recognised Daniel’s
attacking flair, pace and power and started playing him as a winger.
From here Daniel worked
tirelessly hard and managed to earn himself a full-time contract with the club
and we have all seen what happened after this! 7 minutes
into his debut start in the Premier League Daniel became the youngest ever goal
scorer to score whilst making his debut at just 17 years and 309 days old. This was a
dream of Daniel’s that came true.
At
the time all of this was happening when speaking with Daniel on his
opportunity, he told us: “When I found out the club were interested, I
was so excited and could not wait to express my technical and tactical ability
on the pitch. When I found out they wanted to sign me, it felt amazing, and I
just wanted to push even harder and go even further in my career.” He
added.
Following
Daniel’s dream start to life as a professional footballer Daniel continued to
work hard and improve, and all of his hard work and dedication paid off with a
national team call up in March 2021 to represent England at U18 level against
Wales. We recall what we asked Daniel at the time when we asked him how his
call up felt…“I felt amazing. I felt so honoured, and I am so thankful. The
training with England was short, sharp and they pushed us to keep fit and not
fatigue. When I first stepped onto the pitch in the England kit, I felt
amazing. I was focused and ready to give it my all. I enjoyed every last
second.” The England call up was just the beginning of what would turn out to
be an unbelievable couple of months for Daniel as he earned himself a regular
starting position in many Premier League games.
Current
Status
It was
announced just yesterday (11th July 2024) that Daniel had signed a
4-year deal at Premier League club AFC Bournemouth following his contract at
Sheffield United expiring.
Since Daniel signing a professional contract with Sheffield
United, he has gone on to represent England at three different youth levels and
was part of the 2022 UEFA European Under-19 Championship-winning squad. He has
been labelled an “exciting striker who has many promising attributes and
has already provided some memorable moments in his young career so far” by
the AFC Bournemouth’s Chief Executive.
Daniel’s
attitude was paramount to his development as a player and he has pushed himself
constantly, worked hard and this has now come to fruition with an excellent
move to a Premier League club. Daniel is no doubt hoping he can make a big
impact at the club and earn a regular spot in the starting line-up and become a
fan favourite.
Recapping
on Daniel’s advice back when he signed for Sheffield United to all other
aspiring young footballers…”For all the young players who want to turn
pro and play at the top level, it’s simple, always give 110% in both training
and in matches. That hard work you put in will always benefit you when you step
onto the pitch. Always enjoy the game. If you don’t love the sport and also
have the passion and drive, you won’t reach your maximum potential.”
All of us at UK Football Trials are ecstatic for Daniel and would like to congratulate him on his fantastic new move to AFC Bournemouth. We are very much looking forward to watching Daniel play in the premier League again. Best wishes Daniel.
Daniel continued to make strides in his football career by making his debut for AFC Bournemouth on the 17th of August 2024 in a Premier League match against Nottingham Forest. Entering the game in the 69th minute, Daniel brought fresh energy and his trademark attacking flair to the pitch. His presence was immediately felt as he contributed to the team's efforts during the crucial final stages of the match.
This debut is a milestone for Daniel at Bournemouth, coming shortly after he signed a four-year contract with the club. His journey from being scouted at a UK Football Trials event to now playing in the Premier League is a testament to his hard work and dedication. We are proud of Daniel's progress and eagerly anticipate his continued success at Bournemouth. Congratulations, Daniel, on your debut, and we look forward to seeing you shine in the Premier League!
