Campbell White - Aged 14 – Trial at Hull City
Campbell has been
playing in grassroots football as an outfield player and for the York City
Football Club Academy as a goalkeeper. His passion for football and dedication
to the game have driven him to improve his skills and seek new opportunities.
After attending a
UK Football Trials event, Campbell was thrilled to learn he had been scouted.
This led to a trial at Hull City, where he demonstrated his abilities and
potential. Campbell shared, “The trial at Hull City was an incredible
experience, and it gave me a chance to see what it takes to play at a higher
level.” Despite enjoying his trial at Hull City, Campbell decided to
accept a scholar position at York City Football Club, where he continues to
hone his skills as a goalkeeper.
Reflecting on his
club trial experience, Campbell said, “I really enjoyed the process and
the feedback from the coaches and scouts. It helped me understand what I need
to work on to become a better player.” He found the level and ability
of players at the trial to be beneficial, especially as there were only two
goalkeepers, which gave him more game time and the chance to showcase his
talents. “It was unfortunate that there were only two goalkeepers, but it
gave me more game time to prove myself,” Campbell explained.
Campbell attended
the UK Football Trials out of curiosity, wanting to experience the process and
understand the standard of trialists. He appreciated the opportunity to be
assessed by professional scouts and coaches, even though being scouted was not
his primary goal. "It was an enjoyable experience and morning of
football even if you are not scouted," Campbell remarked,
highlighting the value of the trials beyond just being scouted. "The
feedback was invaluable and has given me more confidence in my abilities,"
he added.
Campbell received
constructive and positive feedback from the trial, which has encouraged him to
continue working on his game. “The feedback I received was really
encouraging and has motivated me to keep pushing myself,” he said. “The
experience has been invaluable” in helping him grow as a player and
gain insights into what scouts and coaches are looking for.
As Campbell
continues his journey at York City Football Club, he remains focused on
improving his skills and pursuing his dream of becoming a professional
footballer. His dedication and hard work have already led to significant
achievements, and he is determined to make the most of the opportunities ahead.
We extend our
congratulations to Campbell on his accomplishments and wish him continued
success in his football career!
