Georgie’s football journey began only a year ago when she joined her first club. From the start, it was clear that she had a serious commitment to developing her skills and advancing in the sport. To further her training, Georgie added an extra weekly session with PBR, demonstrating her dedication to continuous improvement. It was this drive that led her to UK Football Trials, where she sought an opportunity to showcase her talent and take her game to the next level.

When UK Football Trials informed Georgie that she had been scouted by Stockport County, her excitement was palpable. “When I got the email from Stockport County, I got really excited because whenever my team played against them they always won quite easily and were top of the league,” Georgie recalled. The opportunity to join a top-tier team like Stockport County was exactly the challenge she was looking for to further hone her skills.

Georgie’s trial with Stockport County was a pivotal moment in her young career. Her parents were in contact with someone from the club, who arranged an introduction to the coach. From the first training session, Georgie knew she had found the right fit. “The girls were very supportive, and the coach was really nice. He had really good training drills and longer sessions than my normal training, which I liked,” she shared. The experience confirmed her belief that Stockport County was the perfect environment for her to grow as a player.

Throughout her trial, Georgie learned valuable lessons about adaptability and the importance of giving her all in every situation. “How to adapt and be flexible as coaches can differ, but the drills are all good for experience,” Georgie reflected. She also realised the importance of always performing at her best because “you never know who will be watching.”

Georgie’s decision to attend UK Football Trials was driven by its proximity to her home and the valuable experience it offered. Reflecting on her experience, she said, “Yes, it was professionally done and good experience,” and would definitely recommend it to other aspiring players looking for similar opportunities.
