Determined to reignite his academy career, James attended UK Football Trials, believing that he deserved another shot at academy football. His performance at the trials did not go unnoticed. He was scouted by Wrexham, with Emre, a scout who recognised James’s potential, taking particular interest. Though Emre later moved on from Wrexham, he ensured that James’s information reached Huddersfield Town, a connection that would prove pivotal.

James was invited to two trials with Huddersfield Town, where he impressed the coaches with his skills, work ethic, and determination. The club, having recently achieved Category 3 academy status, offered James a contract, solidifying his place in their academy. This opportunity was a dream come true for James, who had been working tirelessly to prove that he belonged at this level.

Reflecting on his experience, James shared the valuable lessons he learned from the trials: "Take your chances and work hard." These words capture his approach to football and life. His decision to attend UK Football Trials was driven by his desire to prove himself and earn another opportunity at academy football. His advice to others is simple yet powerful: "If you back yourself, your chance will come."

Now a part of Huddersfield Town, James has already played in six matches and is thriving in his new environment. He describes the training as “intense” and highly beneficial, offering him the chance to learn and grow with each session. The support and guidance from the coaches at Huddersfield have been instrumental in helping him develop his game further.
