After attending the trial, David was excited to hear that he had been scouted. He soon received the news that Oxford United was offering him an 8-week trial. It was the opportunity he had been waiting for, and he knew he had to make the most of it. "The experience was great," David said, recalling the environment at Oxford United. "It was a friendly atmosphere, and I felt welcomed from the very first session." 

During the trial, David’s focus was on proving his ability to compete at a higher level. He quickly learned that communication was key to his performance. “I learned to communicate more with my teammates and move tactically as a team,” David shared. This lesson proved invaluable as he adjusted to the faster pace and higher expectations of academy football. 

The players at Oxford United impressed David. “The level was higher than I expected,” he admitted. He found himself surrounded by skilled and dedicated players, but instead of being intimidated, David used this as motivation to push harder and improve his own game. His determination and work ethic didn’t go unnoticed. 

David’s decision to attend UK Football Trials came from his desire to find an opportunity to showcase his talent. “I wanted a chance to show what I could do,” he said, reflecting on the trials that opened the door to his future with Oxford United. 

When asked if he would recommend UK Football Trials to other players, David’s response was enthusiastic. “If you’re looking for an opportunity, this is the place,” he said. The trials gave him the exposure he needed and connected him with scouts who recognized his talent. 

Now signed to a 12-month contract with Oxford United, David is focused on continuing to develop his skills and making the most of his time with the club.
