“I wanted to get noticed by professional teams,” Sya said, explaining why he decided to attend UK Football Trials. His decision proved to be a wise one. After his impressive performance at the trials, Sya was scouted by several top clubs, including Ipswich Town, Queens Park Rangers (QPR), West Ham United, and Chelsea FC. This marked a turning point in his football journey, as he suddenly had multiple paths to explore in his pursuit of a professional career. 

Following the trials, Sya began to train even more rigorously, understanding that these opportunities could be the key to achieving his dream. “Once I was scouted, I started to train even more,” he shared, recognising that the road to success requires hard work and determination. 

Each club that scouted Sya offered him unique opportunities. West Ham United invited him to their Emerging Talent Centre, a vital step for players aiming to break into academy football. This programme is designed to identify and develop talented young players, and being part of it is a testament to Sya’s potential. 

Meanwhile, Ipswich Town extended an invitation for a two-week trial at their Talent ID Centre, giving Sya the chance to train and prove himself at a high level. “Ipswich invited me for a two-week trial,” Sya said, excited about the opportunity to develop his skills in a professional environment. 

 Chelsea FC, one of the most prestigious clubs in the world, also showed interest in Sya. They asked him to sign up for AI Scout, a platform that allows players to showcase their abilities remotely. This innovative scouting tool allows clubs like Chelsea to assess players from all over the world. “Chelsea asked me to sign in for AI Scout to see my abilities,” Sya shared. 

Finally, Queens Park Rangers (QPR) are taking a more traditional route by planning to send a scout to watch one of Sya’s grassroots matches. “QPR is coming to watch my game for my grassroots team,” Sya added, knowing that this is another fantastic opportunity to impress.  

Sya has learned valuable lessons from his trials and experiences with these clubs. “Yes, I would recommend UK Football Trials because it gives you experience and a good chance of being spotted,” he said. The trials not only helped him get noticed by professional clubs but also gave him insights into the level of play required to succeed in academy football.
