“Once I heard about UK Football Trials from my friend, I knew I had to try it,” Jayden said. Attending the trials was a strategic decision for him, as he wanted to showcase his talent on a bigger stage. His impressive performances during the trial sessions caught the attention of scouts from several clubs, but it was Burton Albion FC who reached out first, offering him the chance for a two-week trial. 

The first week at Burton Albion was intense, but Jayden quickly adapted to the high level of play and impressed the coaching staff. “After a week and a half, I got feedback from the coaches. They were happy with my progress and offered me an eight-week trial extension,” Jayden explained. This was a huge boost to his confidence, as it showed that his hard work was being recognized. 

Over the course of the eight-week trial, Jayden continued to push himself, both physically and mentally. He worked on his positioning, decision-making, and leadership skills, all of which are essential for a centre-back. “The trial was tough, but I learned so much,” he said. The level of competition was exactly what he expected—challenging and full of talented players—but this only motivated Jayden to prove himself further. 

His perseverance paid off when, just before the end of the trial, Burton Albion offered him a contract to sign with their academy. “Yesterday, they told me they were happy with my performance and wanted to offer me a contract,” Jayden shared excitedly. Signing with Burton Albion was a dream come true for Jayden and a testament to his dedication and talent. 

Reflecting on his time with UK Football Trials, Jayden emphasized how important the program was in connecting him with professional opportunities. “I would definitely recommend UK Football Trials to other players. It’s a great way to get noticed, and the experience was amazing,” he said. The program provided him with the platform to showcase his skills and get scouted by professional clubs, something he might not have been able to achieve on his own.
