Nelly, a talented 10-year-old striker, has been passionate about football from a very young age. She began her journey in Cyprus, playing for the Paphos Juventus Academy from 2019 to 2024. Her time at the academy was filled with success, as she helped lead her team to victory in numerous competitions. One of her standout achievements came at the Agia Napa International Football Tournament, where her team triumphed by winning all seven matches. Nelly’s incredible 16-goal haul earned her the MVP award for her age category out of 46 competing teams.

Nelly’s ability to shine on the big stage didn’t stop there. She also had the opportunity to participate in the Juventus Academy World Cup in Italy, where she and her team faced off against international competition, including teams from Tunisia, Australia, Brazil, Chile, and Kuwait. Her exceptional creativity on the field was recognised as she was awarded the Best Creative Player award by Adidas, a prestigious honour that only added to her growing reputation as a future football star. 

In August 2024, Nelly and her family moved back to London, and she continued her football development by joining the Ascot United Academy. Her talent did not go unnoticed, and she was also invited to join the FA Girls’ Team and attend Chelsea Foundation Training at Cobham ACS. These incredible opportunities allowed Nelly to test herself against some of the best young footballers in the country. 

Following her participation in a UK Football Trials event, Nelly was scouted by Chelsea. She was asked to fill out the necessary forms while awaiting an official invitation from the Chelsea Academy for further training. Though she has not yet begun her trial at Chelsea, Nelly is excited about the opportunity and remains eager to take the next step in her football career. 

Reflecting on her experience at UK Football Trials, Nelly shared that she learned a lot from the event, particularly from the new drills she was introduced to. “I learned new drills and gained good experience!” she said, adding that the level of the players at the trial was impressive and helped her grow as a player. 

When asked why she chose to attend UK Football Trials, Nelly said she was looking for a chance to showcase her skills, gain feedback, and experience playing at a higher level. The trials provided her with exactly that. “I wanted to show my skills and get some feedback and experience,” she explained. 

Nelly wholeheartedly recommends UK Football Trials to other young footballers looking to improve and get noticed by professional clubs. “Yes, sure! It was great!” she said, reflecting on the positive experience she had.
