Eli Morgan 15-year-old Striker scouted by Bracknell Town, Alvechurch and Actonian’s

Eli Morgan, a 15-year-old striker from Ireland, has been devoted to football from the age of four. Having started as the only girl on a boys’ team, Eli’s determination has led her to captain her U16s premier team. Following her participation in the UK Football Trials, she’s received interest from three respected UK clubs. Here’s Eli’s journey, in her own words.
“My love for football began early,” Eli shared. “Playing as the only girl on a boys’ team up to 12 years old taught me to be resilient. Now, captaining my U16s premier team, I see just how much that experience shaped me.” She also trains with Path2Pro, an Irish academy where former professional footballer Neale Fenn serves as director and coach. “The support from Path2Pro has been invaluable,” she said. “I work hard, constantly pushing myself to follow my dreams in football.”
When Eli attended the UK Football Trials, her goal was simple: to test her skills on a bigger stage. “I went in hoping to learn and to put myself out there. Being invited for a trial by three clubs was amazing. I honestly didn’t expect it, but it felt like validation for all the hard work,” she said.
Her experience at Brunel University in London was unforgettable. “The whole day felt incredible – from the drills to the match play. I remember looking around and realising just how big this was for me. I just tried to focus, enjoy it, and prove myself,” she said. “Getting recognition from three clubs, that was something I’ll always be proud of. I think my hard work, my commitment to the game – it was all worth it.”
Attending the trial offered Eli insights beyond football skills. “I learnt that hard work really does pay off,” she noted. “The feedback I received – especially from the Chelsea scout, Fred Ham – really hit home. It wasn’t just about my technical skills, but about showing up with confidence and staying focused.” She also mentioned the difference between Irish and English football. “Football in England is at a whole other level. The intensity, the opportunities – they’re just not the same back home in Ireland,” Eli said. “Going over there, I expected everyone to be amazing, but I also realised I could compete with them. That’s when I knew I could really do this.”
For Eli, UK Football Trials represented more than just a chance to play. “I went because football is such a big part of my life – from playing with my club, Home Farm FC, to training at Path2Pro. I even coach academy kids, teaching them basic skills. I wanted to know if I had what it takes to go further, and I think I got my answer.”
When asked if she would recommend UK Football Trials to others, her response was enthusiastic. “Absolutely! The experience alone was brilliant. The feedback I received, the connections I made – it was all worth it. I feel like I’m heading in the right direction now, and I’m excited to keep going.”
Eli’s story captures the spirit of dedication and hard work. With newfound confidence and a bright path ahead, she’s determined to see where her passion for football will take her next.
