Seventeen-year-old winger Evie Manzambi is proving that hard work and dedication can lead to incredible opportunities. With a football journey that began at age 11, Evie has continuously developed his skills and impressed at every level. Now, with the help of UK Football Trials, he’s taking the next step in his promising career. 

At just 17 years old, Evie Manzambi has already proven himself to be a dynamic winger with a promising football journey. His passion for the sport began at the age of 11 when he joined his first team, Splott Albion. Initially playing as a striker, Evie’s blistering pace and outstanding dribbling skills quickly earned him a transition to the wide areas of the pitch. After five successful years with Splott Albion, Evie took a step forward in his career by joining Cardiff Met, a club in the Welsh Premier League, showcasing his abilities at a higher level of competition. 

Eager to further his development, Evie attended a UK Football Trials event in search of new opportunities. The trials attracted a range of talented players, each vying for the attention of scouts. Evie, however, was undeterred by the sheer number of participants and maintained his focus throughout the day. “Don’t let the amount of players there intimidate you” he shared, reflecting on the valuable mindset he adopted during the trials. 

His composure and determination paid off when he received the thrilling news that he had been scouted. Evie recalls the joy this brought to his family: “My family was very proud of me, and I was offered the opportunity to train with them.” Although his trial with the club is still on the horizon, the opportunity to train with a professional setup is an exciting prospect for the young winger. 

Evie also spoke about his experience at the UK Football Trials. While he initially anticipated encountering highly technical players, he was still impressed by the overall level of ability and the competitive environment. The trials, he believes, were an excellent platform for showcasing his talent in front of scouts from various clubs. “Yes, I would recommend UK Football Trials to other players,” he says enthusiastically, “as it’s a great platform to get exposed by many scouts.” 

His journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring footballers, reminding them that perseverance, faith, and seizing opportunities can lead to incredible prospects. Evie is eagerly awaiting his training sessions, ready to demonstrate his skills and make a lasting impression.
