“I came across UK Football Trials through an advert on Instagram,” Rio shared. The organisation’s reputation for connecting players with scouts and clubs caught his attention, and he decided to attend. His experience did not disappoint. 

At the trial, Rio demonstrated his skills and ability to perform under pressure. “The match was the best moment for me,” he said. “It gave me the chance to truly showcase myself and what I could bring to a team.” His calm demeanour and commanding presence on the pitch stood out, catching the eye of a scout from Haringey Borough. 

Shortly after the trial, Rio received an email from the scout inviting him to join Haringey Borough for a trial. The process moved quickly, and Rio found himself training with the team. “I’m still on trial,” he explained, “but I’ve received good feedback so far.” The experience has been positive, and Rio is eager to make the most of the opportunity. 

Reflecting on his time at UK Football Trials, Rio emphasised the importance of being authentic and confident. “I learned to just be myself and express myself,” he said. This advice, coupled with the welcoming and relaxed environment at UK Football Trials, helped Rio perform at his best. 

When asked if he would recommend UK Football Trials to other aspiring players, Rio’s response was unequivocal: “Yes, 100%. They make you feel welcome and relaxed, which is so important when you’re trying to perform.” 

As he continues his trial with Haringey Borough, Rio remains focused and determined. The club’s feedback so far has been promising, and he is ready to give his all to secure a place in the team.
