His breakthrough moment came at UK Football Trials, where his talent caught the attention of a Crystal Palace scout. “I received an email from UK Football Trials telling me I had been scouted, and then the scout reached out to ask for my details,” he explained. “They wanted to know my position, grassroots background, and school team before informing me about the next steps.” The next opportunity? A showcase match, where he’ll have the chance to prove himself further in front of the club’s academy staff. He is currently awaiting confirmation of the details and date. 

Reflecting on his UK Football Trials experience, Zikora learned valuable lessons about his game. “I need to express myself more, be confident on the pitch, and exploit my best attributes,” he said. “I also realised I need to make quicker and better decisions in the final third.” Recognising these areas for improvement will no doubt help him prepare for his upcoming showcase match. 

The highlight of his trial came at the very end of the match, when he scored a well-earned header. “I felt like I’d had a great trial and a brilliant game, so scoring that goal was the perfect way to finish. It filled me with joy and ended the trial on a high.” 

For Zikora, UK Football Trials was the opportunity he had been searching for. Without previous academy or trial experience, he knew he needed exposure, especially as he approached 16. “I did my research and found UK Football Trials to be the best option. It was a great opportunity to take the next step in my football journey, and I’ll never regret making that decision.” 

When asked if he would recommend UK Football Trials to other players, his response was clear. “Absolutely. Especially for those who feel like they haven’t had the chance they deserve. It’s a great way to get exposure and show your talent. Even if you don’t get picked by a scout, you still get feedback, great coaching, and a brilliant football experience.” 

Now, Zikora eagerly awaits his showcase match, knowing it could be the next step in his footballing journey. With his determination and skill, he’s ready to make the most of the opportunity when the time comes. Watch this space—this left winger has the talent and mindset to go far.
