Bailey’s football journey began with FAW Academies and continued through college football, where he honed his skills as a goalkeeper. With a passion for the game and a drive to progress, Bailey attended a UK Football Trial to showcase his talent to scouts. 

His hard work and dedication paid off almost immediately. “The head of the academy was in touch one hour later,” Bailey shared. By the following Monday, he was officially signed by Weston-Super-Mare, marking a significant milestone in his football journey. 

Reflecting on his trial experience, Bailey emphasised the importance of giving your best at every opportunity. “Always try your best and show your ability throughout,” he said, demonstrating the mindset that helped him stand out to scouts. His trial not only allowed him to train with the team but also to engage with the coaches, receive feedback, and ultimately earn his spot in the squad. 

The standard of players at the UK Football Trials met Bailey’s expectations, confirming the high level of competition he encountered. “Yes, very high standard,” he noted, appreciating the opportunity to measure himself against top talent and further prove his abilities. 

Bailey’s decision to attend UK Football Trials was driven by the desire to seize new opportunities. “Any opportunity is progress,” he explained, highlighting his belief in taking every chance to improve and move closer to his football dreams. 

His journey with Weston-Super-Mare has been swift yet impactful. After training with the team, receiving feedback, and showcasing his skills, Bailey was signed immediately—a testament to both his talent and readiness to step up to the next level.
