Like many young players dreaming of becoming professionals, Callum wanted to test himself at a higher level. “UK Football Trials gave me the chance to see if I was good enough to be scouted,” he said. “I love playing football, and I’m always looking to improve and push myself.” 

Callum attended a UK Football Trials event where his performance and attitude on the pitch immediately caught the attention of a Fulham scout. Within just one week, Callum and his family received an email from Fulham inviting him to play in a match at their training ground—an incredible opportunity and recognition of his potential. 

“So we turned up at Fulham’s training ground—it was lovely,” Callum recalled. “We had a proper warm-up and then went straight into the game. I scored an absolute rocket from 25 yards out! There were some very good players in the game, and it was a great challenge.” 

Although Callum was not offered a full trial immediately after the match, Fulham has expressed interest in seeing more of him, informing his family that they will be in touch again once training resumes for their Under-12 development squad. It’s a clear sign that the door is still open, and Callum’s performance made a strong impression. 

When asked what he learned from attending UK Football Trials, Callum gave a mature and inspiring response: “Never give up. Knockbacks only make you more determined.” He understands that the journey to becoming a professional footballer isn’t always straightforward and that resilience is just as important as talent. 

One of the best parts of his UK Football Trials experience was seeing the level required to be signed by a professional club. “It really opened my eyes,” he said. “You need to be quick, confident, and always ready to take your chances.” 

Would he recommend UK Football Trials to other young players? “Yes, definitely. It’s a great experience and gives you real confidence. Even if you don’t get scouted right away, you learn so much and can see what you need to improve.” 

For Callum, this is just the beginning. With Fulham continuing to monitor his progress and a strong foundation built from previous experiences at top clubs, his football journey is already full of promise. His work ethic, attitude, and standout moments—like that unforgettable 25-yard goal—are proof of what he’s capable of.
