Siena Arielle Munro-Omdahl – Age 13 – Trial with Derby County

Siena Arielle Munro-Omdahl – Age 13 – Trial with Derby County
Siena Arielle Munro-Omdahl, aged 13, is an ambitious and technically gifted goalkeeper who has already built an impressive playing background both in Norway and the UK. Her journey started in 2016, when she first stepped onto the pitch with Nordstrand G2011, developing her foundation in football and goalkeeping. Between 2019 and 2024, Siena continued to grow, taking on the goalkeeper role for Nordstrand G2011/2010, before making the move to the UK in 2024 to become the goalkeeper for Rossall School—a transition that marked the next big step in her footballing journey.

In spring 2025, Siena attended a UK Football Trials event with the goal of testing herself in a high-level environment and seeing how she measured up against other top talents from around the world. Her performance did not go unnoticed. Shortly after the trial, Siena received the exciting news that she had been scouted by Derby County.

“I was contacted by Derby County Academy and invited to take part in a trial match on 14th May 2025,” Siena explained. “It was an amazing opportunity to show what I could do.”

On the day of the trial, Siena played in a full match at the club’s training ground. “I was placed in goal for the academy team in a match against a side made up of academy and non-academy players,” she said. “The level was really strong, and I had to stay focused and composed throughout the game. I felt confident and gave it my all.”

While Siena and her family are currently waiting to receive feedback from Derby County, she has already gained a great deal from the experience—and credits UK Football Trials for helping her prepare. “At the trial, I improved my technique, learned how to stay mentally strong, and experienced the intensity of a truly competitive environment,” she said. “It also helped me build social confidence, playing with people from different cultures and age groups.”

Siena believes one of the most valuable parts of the trial was the interaction with the scouts and coaches. “The best part was definitely the constructive feedback I received. It gave me a clear idea of where I’m strong and where I can improve.”

When asked what led her to attend UK Football Trials, Siena was clear about her goals. “I came for the opportunity to be coached by a stellar coaching team, to benchmark my current level, and most importantly, to receive feedback that will help me grow as a goalkeeper.”

She also wholeheartedly recommends the experience to other young footballers. “Yes, definitely! UK Football Trials is a brilliant chance to get expert coaching, gain feedback, and perform in front of scouts. It’s a rare chance to really understand where you stand as a player.”

Now, with Derby County reviewing her trial performance and feedback expected soon, Siena is excited about what comes next. She remains focused, grounded, and determined to continue developing both on and off the pitch.

Everyone at UK Football Trials is proud of Siena’s progress and commitment. We’ll be keeping a close eye on her journey and look forward to seeing what she achieves next in her growing football career.
