Leo Del Din – 11 Years Old – Scouted by Stevenage and Oxford City 

At just 11 years old, Leo Del Din is already beginning to make a name for himself as a talented attacking midfielder. With quick feet, composure on the ball, and a flair for beating defenders, Leo’s performances at UK Football Trials have earned him the attention of two clubs: Stevenage and Oxford City. For a young player who simply wanted to test himself and see where he stood, this recognition is both exciting and motivating. 

Leo began his journey with Elite London Academy, where he first started honing the technical and tactical skills that would form the foundation of his game. Training in a competitive environment helped him develop his ability to dictate play, create chances, and make decisive contributions in matches. It also gave him the confidence to step up to new challenges when the opportunity came. 

When he attended UK Football Trials, Leo’s main goal was simple. “The opportunity to challenge myself and see my level and try to be scouted,” he explained. He knew it was a chance not only to test his ability against strong opposition but also to learn from professional coaches and understand what scouts were looking for. 

The day proved to be a huge success. Leo’s ability to dribble at defenders and create moments of brilliance did not go unnoticed. He recalls his favourite moment vividly: “I dribbled past a defender and then the goalkeeper. It was a great goal.” That moment highlighted his composure in front of goal and his confidence to take on players one-versus-one. It was also exactly the kind of action that makes scouts sit up and take notice. 

When UK Football Trials informed Leo that he had been scouted, he couldn’t hide his excitement. “I was very pleased to be noticed and excited for the future. Also, I was grateful for the opportunity,” he said. For a player at his age, being recognised by professional clubs is a significant milestone — and one that reinforces his belief in his potential. 

Leo’s football journey is not just about the technical side of the game. It has also been about gaining valuable life lessons from every opportunity. “It was a valuable experience in trials,” he said, reflecting on what he took away from the event. Learning how to play under pressure, adapt quickly, and take feedback on board are skills that will serve him well as he continues his development. 

Following his UK Football Trials experience, Leo was offered an official trial with Stevenage, scheduled for September. Oxford City also showed interest, further underlining the impact he made on the day. For now, Leo is focused on preparing himself both physically and mentally for these opportunities, ensuring he’s ready to give his best when the trials begin. 

Would he recommend UK Football Trials to others? Absolutely. “It is a wonderful opportunity to get scouted and learn from professional coaches about what you can improve,” he explained. For Leo, the event was more than just a trial — it was a learning experience that gave him both recognition and motivation to push forward. 

With an official trial ahead and the confidence of having been scouted by two clubs, Leo is determined to keep working hard. His story so far is an early glimpse of a player with ambition, ability, and the right attitude to keep moving forward. The coming months will be key, but for Leo Del Din, the journey has already begun in the best possible way.
