Success Story Update: Bade Aluko – England U20 Debut vs Japan

Bade Aluko’s journey from attending our five-day UK Football Trials camp in August 2021 to representing England at U20 level is extraordinary — and his latest milestone marks one of the biggest moments of his career so far.

This month, Bade made his England U20 debut, coming off the bench in the 78th minute during a 1–1 draw against Japan, officially earning his first international appearance at youth level. Being named in the squad alone was a major achievement — but stepping onto the pitch for his country represents a new level in his rapid progression.

For Bade and his family, this moment is the continuation of a story that began four years ago when, at only 15, he came to UK Football Trials “to gain experience and enjoy his football.” What followed was beyond expectations: he was scouted by Leicester City, and has since risen through every age group at the club, earning a place alongside some of the best young talents in England.

His development at Leicester has been clear to see. Bade has consistently shown maturity, intelligence, and athletic ability, improving year on year. He has credited the Leicester academy for shaping him technically, physically, and mentally, highlighting improvements in his speed, ball control, and use of his left foot — supported by specialist coaching, performance reviews, and high-level training.

Earlier this season, he reached another major milestone when he was named in the Leicester City first-team squad for their Premier League fixture against Brighton. Now, representing England marks another significant step in his journey.

The England U20 call-up — and his appearance against Japan — places Bade among the country’s most promising young defenders. The graphic released by the FA confirms him as part of a squad featuring players from clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool, underlining just how far he has come since that trial day in 2021.

Bade continues to remain ambitious, disciplined, and focused on the long-term: aiming to break into Leicester City’s first team and earn further international recognition. His journey is a clear message to young players everywhere about what is possible when you combine talent with hard work, patience, and the right opportunities.

From being scouted at our five-day camp… to signing for Leicester… to making a Premier League matchday squad… to stepping onto the pitch for England U20s — Bade Aluko’s story continues to grow. And this latest milestone is his biggest yet.
