At just 10 years old, Olamide is already showing exciting potential, earning recognition from professional scouts after impressing at UK Football Trials. A fast, skilful and versatile attacker who can play as a winger or striker, his journey reflects both early promise and the importance of persistence.

Olamide began playing football at the age of seven, first developing his skills before progressing into grassroots football and training with a local academy side. From an early stage, his pace, technical ability, and love for the game stood out.

“He is a very skilful, fast and versatile player who loves to play football,” his father explained.

Looking to take the next step, Olamide attended a UK Football Trials event, where he had the opportunity to play in front of academy scouts and experience a higher level of football.

During the trial, he impressed with his energy, attacking intent, and ability to showcase his skills in match situations. His performances caught the attention of a scout from Queens Park Rangers, who made contact shortly after the event.

“We were contacted by the scout to provide player details for a trial booking,” his father said.

Although a trial was initially expected, the opportunity was unfortunately withdrawn due to FA distance regulations, which restrict how far young players can travel to attend academy training sessions. While disappointing, this outcome is not uncommon at younger age groups and does not reflect a lack of ability.

Despite this setback, the experience itself was extremely valuable.

“Above all, I had fun playing with other boys in my age group,” Olamide said. “The coaching staff did a great job teaching technical awareness, ball control, and positioning.”

One of his standout moments came simply from being able to express himself on the pitch.

“Playing with other boys and being able to showcase my talent.”

Olamide attended UK Football Trials with a clear purpose:

“My love for football and an opportunity to showcase my talent to academy scouts.”

That goal was achieved — being scouted by a professional club is a strong indication of his ability and potential.

When asked if he would recommend UK Football Trials to others, the answer was clear:

“Yes, because it is a great place for players to showcase their talent to scouts and work with professional coaches.”

Although the trial with QPR could not go ahead, Olamide remains focused on his development. He continues to play grassroots football and is determined to keep improving and working towards the next opportunity — ideally with a club within a suitable distance.

His story is a reminder that in football, timing and logistics can play a role — but ability does not go unnoticed. With his talent, mindset, and passion for the game, Olamide is firmly on the right path, and his next opportunity may not be far away.
