Jayden – 16 Years Old – Striker | Scouted by Leyton Orient, Potters Bar & Luton Town
Jayden’s football journey is a strong example of consistency, experience, and taking opportunities when they come. After attending multiple UK Football Trials events, he has progressed into academy football and continues to build real momentum in his development.
Jayden has a solid grassroots background, having played for Dagenham United for six seasons, followed by spells with Cobra, Ridgeway Rovers (Premier Division), and West Ham MPS. These experiences helped shape his game as a striker, giving him valuable match exposure and a strong understanding of competitive football environments.
Looking to take the next step, Jayden attended several UK Football Trials events, including Lakeside (February 2025), Cray Wanderers (May 2025), and Lakeside again (February 2026). These events gave him the platform to perform in front of scouts and test himself at a higher level.
His performances across these trials led to significant interest.
Jayden was scouted by Leyton Orient, Potters Bar Town, and Luton Town, with each opportunity providing a different pathway in his journey.
Following contact with the clubs, Jayden and his family ensured he continued to gain valuable playing experience.
“We made contact with the scouts to accept their offers and made sure Jayden played a large amount of minutes to gain more confidence and experience,” his father explained.
His pathway has since developed in a clear direction.
Jayden was placed on the books at Leyton Orient, before spending time with Potters Bar Town, where he played for two months during the summer of 2025. During that period, the manager who worked with him moved into a new role and saw potential in Jayden’s development.
That led to another key opportunity.
Jayden was invited to join the Pro Direct Academy Essex.
Reflecting on his experience at UK Football Trials, Jayden highlighted the importance of learning how to perform under pressure.
“Learning how to present myself in front of scouts, giving the best account of myself, listening and learning new things, and gaining that experience of playing in a showcase environment.”
For Jayden, the biggest takeaway was the opportunity itself.
“Being part of the experience and having the opportunity to play in front of scouts.”
That exposure has clearly translated into real outcomes, with multiple clubs recognising his ability and offering pathways forward.
When asked if he would recommend UK Football Trials, the answer was clear:
“It’s a well-run event and gives players the opportunity to showcase themselves. Football is a tough game to get into, but if you can give yourself that chance, UK Football Trials is a great stepping stone.”
From years of grassroots football…
to being scouted by multiple clubs…
Jayden’s journey shows the value of persistence, experience, and putting yourself in the right environment.
With his development continuing at academy level and further opportunities still ahead, he is firmly on the right path as he looks to take the next step in his football career.
