Sebastian – 9 Years Old – Central Midfielder | Scouted by Chelsea & Fulham 

At just 9 years old, Sebastian is already building an exciting football journey, combining high-level futsal experience with strong performances on the pitch. After attending a UK Football Trials event in Charlton, he has earned recognition from both Chelsea and Fulham, highlighting his growing potential at a young age. 

Sebastian’s development has been slightly different to many players his age. Alongside traditional football, he has been competing at a high level in futsal across the Cambridgeshire area, a format known for developing close control, quick decision-making, and technical ability. This background has clearly influenced his style of play, particularly in tight spaces and under pressure. 

He is currently progressing through his development with Ely Lions Futsal and Ipswich Futures, continuing to build both his technical skills and understanding of the game. Prior to UK Football Trials, Sebastian had already experienced academy environments, having attended trials with Norwich City and Ipswich Town. 

Looking to gain further exposure and test himself at a higher level, Sebastian attended a UK Football Trials event — an opportunity that proved to be another important step in his journey. 

During the event, he impressed with his composure in midfield, technical ability, and confidence on the ball. His performances caught the attention of scouts, leading to contact from both Fulham and Chelsea shortly after. 

“Both clubs contacted us,” his father explained. 

Following this, Sebastian attended a talent identification day, where he continued to showcase his ability and gain further experience in a competitive environment.

Regardless of the next steps, the experience itself has already been extremely valuable. 

“It was a fantastic experience overall,” his father shared. “Seb had a great time and showed that he is moving in the right direction.” 

Sebastian’s journey so far highlights the importance of opportunity — something that has been a consistent theme throughout his development. 

“Opportunities,” as his father summarised, have been the key takeaway — the chance to be seen, to learn, and to continue progressing. 

When asked if they would recommend UK Football Trials, the answer was clear: 

“Yes, great opportunities.” 

At just 9 years old, Sebastian is already gaining exposure to professional environments, building experience, and attracting interest from top academies. 

With continued development in both futsal and football, and clubs now monitoring his progress, his journey is very much on the right path — and one to watch as he continues to grow.
