Gabriel – 15 Years Old – Right Winger | Trialling with Aveley FC 

At 15 years old, Gabriel is a right winger who has been pushing himself to compete at the highest level available to him since the earliest stages of his football journey. From Wakering and Trinity through to Chelsea Foundation and Ipswich Town, he has sought out strong environments throughout his development — and that attitude has continued with his attendance at UK Football Trials and the trial that followed. 

Gabriel's background covers Old Southendian, Chelsea Foundation, and Ipswich, giving him a broad football education across different club cultures and levels. Away from organised training, he puts in two hours of additional work every day — a routine that tells you a lot about how seriously he takes his development. 

He attended the Essex trial, and found the standard and the environment exactly what he was looking for. On his overall experience, Gabriel said: 

"I found the experience good overall. The session was to a high standard and there were a large number of scouts present, which was good to see." 

The intensity of the coaching sessions made an impression throughout the day. 

"The coaching was good, the intensity was high, and the standard was high." 

The match at the end of the event was where Gabriel felt most at home. Playing in his preferred right-wing role, he had the freedom to express himself — and delivered, contributing both a goal and an assist. On that moment, he said: 

"I enjoyed the whole session, but particularly the match at the end. I was able to show my skillset, and I also got an assist and a goal." 

Aveley FC made contact after the event and invited Gabriel and his family to a match day. The process moved quickly and the communication from the club was clear from the start. 

"My trial was good, communication was clear, and the club set up the trial session fast." 

He was added to a WhatsApp group with all the information he needed, and the trial has been progressing well since. For a player who has worked hard across multiple clubs and development environments, this is an opportunity in the right sort of environment at the right time. 

When asked whether he would recommend UK Football Trials to other players, Gabriel's answer was simple: 

"Yes." 

The trial with Aveley FC is ongoing. Gabriel is in a good position, and everything about the way he has approached his football to this point suggests he will make the most of it.
