At 17 years old, Pippa is a winger and centre forward with experience across a range of football environments. She has represented Peel and the Isle of Man, trained with Liverpool U16s, played for Chester, and is currently at Poulton Victoria. Her decision to attend UK Football Trials in Manchester and Liverpool gave her another chance to put that experience in front of scouts.

Pippa came into the events wanting to show what she could do and make the most of the opportunity. She described the experience simply but positively.

"I really enjoyed the experience."

The coaching was another part of the day she rated highly, and her favourite part of the trial was having the chance to demonstrate her ability in a competitive environment.

"Showing what I’m capable of."

Playing in front of scouts can add pressure to any trial, but Pippa approached it with the hope that her performance would stand out for the right reasons.

"I found it good and hoped they would see something in me."

The biggest lesson she took from the experience was one that applies far beyond a single trial day: players cannot always know who is watching, so the standard has to remain high whenever they step onto the pitch.

"It helped me remember that you never know who is watching you play, so give it your all."

That approach was noticed. Pippa reported interest from Nantwich, Blackpool, England and a football college. UK Football Trials contacted her by email to let her know she had been scouted and provided the information she needed to take the next steps.

The Blackpool opportunity progressed to a club trial. Pippa attended, but ultimately decided that the travelling distance made it the wrong practical fit for her. The experience still gave her valuable exposure to another club environment and, importantly, positive feedback on her performance.

"They said that I was good."

Pippa's journey is a reminder that a successful trial experience does not always have to end with signing for the first club that shows interest. She came to UK Football Trials to be seen, was noticed by several organisations, and earned the opportunity to trial with Blackpool.

Asked whether she would recommend UK Football Trials to other players, her answer was clear:

"Yes, definitely."

The Blackpool move was not the right fit geographically, but Pippa leaves the experience with positive feedback, greater exposure and proof that her performances can attract attention. The next opportunity is still there to be taken.
