Goalkeeper Scouted after Scoring Spectacular Goal in Trial
Goalkeeper Adam Seedhouse-Evans, 16, has been scouted by Plymouth Argyle, after he was asked to play centre back by one of the scouts at his football trial.
Adam has attended four UK Football Trials in the past year and after being overlooked due to his height in the last three, Plymouth Argyle finally took a chance on him after watching him play both in goal and outfield at our trial in Plymouth this April.
Already convinced by his ability between the sticks, Founder of the Professional Football Scouts Association David Hobson asked Adam to play at centre back to see how he could play with the ball at his feet - Adam was then scouted after he scored a goal from the half way line.
"Adam showed great attitude all day when I watched him at the UK Football Trial," said Dan Thompson, Plymouth Argyle Scout, "I was impressed with him from what I saw in the goalkeeper session and he also showed his ability on the ball when playing outfield."
When we caught up with Adam to see how he's been getting on, he told us: "I went in on Tuesday for some training with the outfield players and the standard was amazing. The physicality was a step up from what I'm used to at my semi-pro side Bovey Tracey, so it was a bit of a shock.
"But I spent a year at Argyle for seasons ago and it's nice to be back - hopefully if I do well I'll be staying on! I'll be here until the end of the season and training with the goalkeepers from here on in so I'll just have to see how it goes."
Speaking about his four UK Football Trials, Adam said: "I've been to a few now and they're amazing, it's an awesome opportunity and if you're good enough you'll get picked. It's been great for me, especially living down in the South West you don't get those opportunities as much."
