Goalkeeper Curtis Taylor, 12, is being monitored by League One club Coventry City after being scouted at our trial in Birmingham last year.

The club have sent a scout to watch two of his games for Hillmortan u12's in recent weeks, several months after initially being scouted.

Coventry City scout Dave Fairbrother, who regularly attends our football trials, spotted Curtis after watching him play in the Goalkeeper Football Trial at Sutton Coldfield Town Football Club last October.

Curtis' mother, Louise, said: "They've sent scouts out a couple of times to come and watch him play and we've been in contact with Dave so things are still progressing.

"We haven't actually spoken to Coventry since they've watched him, though, so it's just a case of sitting tight and waiting to hear."

Louise told us that Curtis, who stands at 5ft tall and weighs just under six stone, has coped well with the added pressure of being watched by a pro scout, saying that it has in fact made him play better and pushed him even further.

Speaking about Curtis' UK Football Trial, Louise said: "The whole UK Football Trials experience has been great. We found it online and I needed some way of helping him get into the game.

"The actual trial was brilliant, he had a lot of 1-on-1 coaching which did him the world of good and has really helped with his confidence."
