May/June Trials Produce Record Number of Scouted Players
The football trials held across the UK last week saw a record number of players scouted by pro and semi pro club scouts. In total 84 players were scouted for 160 opportunities, with some players being monitored by up to 7 clubs after impressing scouts at multiple events.
UK Football Trials' team travelled to Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Essex and West London to help give as many players as possible the opportunity to change their lives and over the coming weeks we will be bringing news of those players that progress to trials, or even contracts, with the interested parties.
Director Harry Price, who was present at all of the football trials last week, said: "This is our fifth year of running these trials and to get a record number - that puts us over 200 players scouted so far this year - shows that the standard of player is improving. We also feel that our trial system is getting better and more scouts, from more clubs, are taking more players from our events. It's a win, win for everybody and is a credit to the players and parents coming to our events."
One player has already been in for a three-day trial with the First Team at a League 2 club, with another set to spend a week with a Championship club later this month. These were exceptional circumstances due to the clubs finishing the season late and a desire to get the deals over the line before pre-season.
All other players who attended our trials last week will be contacted by 8pm on Friday 10th June with a decision from the scouts, via email or phonecall.
